Below are responses to frequently asked questions for QCP 2026 screening hosts.
Which films will be screened?
The QCP jury has put together a stellar program of six short films for a total of 62 minutes.
See the full film program.
Is it mandatory to register?
Yes. All events must be registered in order to receive the film files. Once you have the details of your event, you can register your screening.
The firm deadline to register events will be 15 May.
What files will be provided?
We will be providing a single file with the QCP film program (60 min.) of six short films, with brief introductions by each filmmaker, and short QCP introduction.
These files will be provided in H.264 or ProRes (your choice) with stereo audio. Please double check with your venue regarding preferred format and compatibility. (Please note: We are not able to produce DCP files due to the number of language versions and costs).
Do we need to coordinate the date with QCP?
You are free to choose any date during the month of June, and there can be more than one city on specific dates. If you would like to be put in touch with other screening hosts in your city, please let us know.
Can we augment the program?
Yes! You are welcome to invite local speakers and artists to join your event to make it relevant to your community.
Should we invite other groups to co-host with us?
Absolutely! The broader the coalition the better.
What are the requirements of screening hosts?
Screening hosts will secure a venue, create subtitles (where relevant, together with others speaking the same language), and organize the local event. The diversity of screening hosts, from small collectives to bigger festivals, is what makes QCP special!
All screening hosts, partner groups, and participating speakers and participating artists must agree with the QCP Mission Statement.
Can our screening be private?
Yes. Safety first. We recognize the need to maintain some screenings private. You will be able to indicate this on the registration form. We can work with you if there is partial information you would like to make public.
Can we organize a fundraiser at the screening?
You are free to choose where to donate any funds collected during the screening. One suggestion that we will be making, for those in a position to do so, will be to also make a contribution to the filmmakers. The filmmakers are being paid a fair flat fee that they have all agreed to, but we have received expressions of interest from 200+ groups around the world. Any contributions beyond what QCP is paying the filmmakers would help to compensate for the large number of potential screenings. This is strictly up to you.
What about subtitles?
Most films are in Arabic/English, and all films have English subtitles. If you want to undertake translating the films into another language for your audience, we can provide you with the English transcript (with time stamps). We can also put you in touch with others of the same language to work collectively on translations. It will be up to screening hosts to create the subtitled version of the film program.
Screening permissions
The screenings will be happening all over the world. Each country will have its own requirements for screening the films in certain venues. We have contracts with all filmmakers for global screening rights during QCP 2026. We can provide a statement from QCP that all filmmakers have given their consent.
Promotional Materials
Registered event organizers will receive a template poster that they can adapt, a trailer, a template press release and more.
We will also be listing all public events on the QCP website and social media platforms.
Can we organize a screening outside the QCP dates of June 2026?
We have negotiated a contract with the filmmakers for screenings during the month of June. For screenings outside that period, you will need to get in touch with the filmmakers. We would be happy to provide contacts for the filmmakers.
