Queer Cinema for Palestine – Brasília

June 26, 2026 19:00

Cine Brasília
SHCS EQS 106/107 – Brasilia, Brasília – Federal District, 70345-400, Brasilia, Brasil

Queer Cinema for Palestine (QCFP) is an international queer film festival, collectively curated, that brings together art, politics, and international solidarity. Created in 2021, QCFP gathers filmmakers, collectives, and cultural spaces from around the world to celebrate LGBTQIA+ realities and affirm support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom, justice, and dignity.

During Pride Month, the initiative promotes simultaneous screenings across multiple countries — in 2025, more than 250 groups organized over 110 screenings in 34 countries, presenting a short film program under the theme “No Pride in Genocide.”

In Brasília, QCFP was previously held in 2021 at the Renato Russo Cultural Space, as part of the festival’s international network. The proposal is to organize a new local edition as part of the 2026 global mobilization, featuring a film screening followed by a discussion, strengthening dialogue between art, human rights, and social movements in the context of Pride Month.

This edition will take place as part of rastro – festival de cinema documentário (with “rastro” kept in Portuguese), and is scheduled for June 26 at Cine Brasília.

The scope of the event includes:

1 screening of LGBTQIAPN+ short films (approximately 60 minutes)

1 post-screening discussion (approximately 60 minutes)

Possibility of additional foyer activities (DJ, artist fair)

This is a non-profit event, with no public funding, carried out through the voluntary work of individuals mobilized in defense of and solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of the genocide perpetrated by Israel.

Queer Cinema for Palestine (QCP) is a collectively-curated global film festival celebrating queer realities and standing in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom, justice, and dignity. As Israel continues to attempt to instrumentalize our identities as queer and trans people to justify its genocide against Palestinians, including murdering, blackmailing, and imprisoning queer and trans Palestinians, the worldwide No Pride in Genocide screenings will take place during June 2026, the Pride month in many countries. We do so to continue our refusal of Israel’s pinkwashing.

June 5, 2026 18:00 and June 12, 2026 18:00

KTS Freiburg
Basler Straße 103; 79100 Freiburg im Breisgau, Freiburg, Germany

Join us at the KTS on Friday, June 5 at 6 pm to watch a selection of six short films focusing on the work of queer, Palestinian and allied artists in historic Palestine, across the diaspora, and beyond.

Israeli pinkwashing tries to perpetuate the backward idea that Palestinian people are inherently queer and transphobic and that queer and trans Palestinians do not and cannot stand in opposition to apartheid and genocide. We reject this narrative and want to create a collective space for solidarity with global struggles against colonialism.

The films are in Arabic and English with English and German subtitles. The event is free to attend.

After the screening, there will be space to come together and to share our thoughts. There will be food and drinks on a donation basis.

The venue is located on a hill and there are stairways. The toilet is not accessible. Please email referat-regenbogen@mail.stura.uni-freiburg.de if you have any access requests.

Queer Cinema for Palestine began as an alternative ethical space for filmmakers who refused to show their work in the Israeli government-sponsored TLVFest LGBTQ Film Festival. Over the past years, hundreds of filmmakers have shown their solidarity in response to the boycott call from queer and trans Palestinians.

QR Presents: Queer Cinema for Palestine Stuttgart

June 19, 2026 19:00

Württembergischer Kunstverein
Schlossplatz 2, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany

We are happy to announce we will be hosting Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026 (QCP), bringing 60 minutes of short movies to Stuttgart for the first time! On June 19th @ 7pm, we would like to welcome you to the fourth edition of this film event taking place globally during Pride month.

As a local queer and revolutionary group, we will be screening Queer Cinema for Palestine as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people. One of the many ways Germany demonstrates its cultural support for Israel’s genocide is through censoring the cultural artistic representation of Palestinian voices, denying the recognition and humanity of the Palestinian people and their struggle. We are honored to host an evening centering the queer Palestinian struggle through an artistic lens, where we will view and analyze the films on their different layers of queerness, oppression and freedom.

QCP started in 2021 as a film festival in solidarity with Palestinian queers in opposition to pinkwashing by the Israeli government-sponsored TLVFest. This offered a space for artists and arts groups around the world to stand together, using art to oppose the ongoing violence of the Israeli occupation and apartheid against Indigenous Palestinians. Since then, QCP returned in 2023 and 2025. Last year’s short film program was presented by 250+ groups/partners at 110+ screenings in 34 countries globally during Pride month. This year, they are on track to beat last year’s record!

The Film Program for Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026 includes:

A Message, Mama Ganuush (2:51 min, Palestine, 2026);

Ceasefire (بِكَفِّي قَهْـر), Teodor Vladár (23 min, Slovakia/Hungary, 2025);

The 5-Year Plan for Financial Independence, Dua Omari (7 min, Palestine, 2025);

Theros Academy

Magnolia space (Eressos)
Eresos 811 05, Greece,  Eresos, Greece

Theros’ Academy is a Trans* and Lesbian* Studies Academy, bringing together scholars, activists, and performers from the Mediterranean and the USA. It is an attempt to launch trans* studies in Greece, an academy that sticks its tongue out at the top-down, hegemonic studies of institutions, inspired by grassroots solidarity, transfeminist joy, and collective care. It will feature Susan Stryker, who pioneered trans* studies in the USA, and will involve five days of film screenings, performances, sharing circles on the beach, music, and workshops.

The Academy will take place on 10-14 June 2026, in Eressos, Lesbos, which is the birthplace of the lyric poet Sappho. Eressos has attracted a number of lesbian and gender-non-conforming poets and writers who have found a home on the island since the 19th century and, nowadays, the place remains a lesbian, trans and queer haven with a diverse community rooted in strong feminist principles and political action.

Tidak Ada Bangga di Tengah Genosida

June 21, 2026 19:00

Roomah Jamoor
Jl. Pandega Karya, Manggung, Caturtunggal, Kec. Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 55281, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Mari bergabung di Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026: No Pride in Genocide pada 21 Juni 2026.

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

In lieu of a programme brochure, audience members will be provided with an informative film critic scorecard. The audience will be invited to rate the films out of 5 and provide a brief one line impression of each film. Scores will be collated to determine an audience favourite. The selected project will receive a small bonus payout.

Following the screening, L’Atitude 51 (wine bar) have kindly offered to host a cohort of the audience for a post-screening discussion. Capacity for this part of the evening will be limited to 40, with attendees required to express interest at the time of booking.

This will be an informal hour of wine, food and chat about the films, with the scorecards serving as a reminder about the films we have just watched. The audience favourite will be announced.

June 2026: “Queer Cinema for Palestine”

Nawras — “seagull” in Arabic, the bird that crosses the sea without borders — is the name we have chosen for this cultural and political initiative taking place across the Mediterranean from May 31 to June 15, 2026, departing from Cetraro (Calabria) and arriving in Brindisi (Puglia), aboard the boat IntilaQ+.

Nawras 2026 is fully part of the global No Pride in Genocide movement.

Through several stops in island and southern Italian ports, each landing will be built as an opportunity to culturally boycott Israel and the 28th edition of the Tel Aviv–Jaffa Pride Parade: our voices will join those rising around the world to denounce pinkwashing and femo/homonationalism as tools used by the zionist state and it’s allies to legitimize occupation and genocide.

The perspective is intersectional: Palestinian liberation cannot be separated from the struggles for freedom of movement, for environmental justice, from whom is opposing large-scale projects imposed on southern Italy communities, nor from resistance against ports being turned into hubs of war logistics.

Around the screenings of the new edition of Queer Cinema for Palestine, a journey will take shape that engages, each time, with the social, political, and cultural specificities of the territories hosting it. Every stop will be an opportunity to build moments of encounter, collective reflection, and mobilization together with local communities, grounded in the urgencies and struggles shaping each context.

Reclaiming Pride – Queer Visions of Palestinian Resistance

June 19, 2026 19:00

Ex Tipografia Doretti
Via Artico di Prampero, 7, Udine (Friuli-Venezia Giulia), 33100, Italy

As part of the global “No Pride in Genocide” initiative, “FVG Pride”, “Comitato per la Palestina Udine”, “Ospiti in Arrivo” and “Eccentrico Cineclub” are very proud to collaborate on a dedicated screening event for the 4th edition of Queer Cinema for Palestine.

This partnership brings together the regional queer movement and the local Palestinian solidarity front in Udine to foster a space of intersectional struggle. By hosting this screening during June 2026, we aim to reclaim the political roots of Pride, explicitly rejecting the instrumentalization of our identities used to sanitize colonial violence.

Our event features the collectively curated short film program as a catalyst for community dialogue. We aim to highlight how Palestinian queer narratives are essential to the broader struggle for liberation, demonstrating that art is not just a reflection of reality but a powerful tool of resistance. Through this screening, the Udine community will be able to join the global call for an ethical boycott and stand in unwavering solidarity with Palestinians in their journey toward justice and self-determination.

No Pride in Genocide

June 21, 2026 18:30

Atomic Bomb Dome
1-10 Otemachi, Naka Ward, Hiroshima, Hiroshima, Japan

We invite you to join us for a screening of Queer Cinema for Palestine in front of the Atomic Bomb dome in Hiroshima, Japan.

80 years have passed since American forces dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. While Hiroshima has had 80 years to rebuild, over nearly the same period of time Palestine has been robbed, occupied, divided into an apartheid regime, and Palestinians have been driven out of their homes and murdered in a genocidal campaign by the Israeli state.

Through the screening of No Pride in Genocide in front of the Atomic Bomb dome, we resist the pinkwashing and peacewashing agenda of Israel, showing the queer lives of Palestine through the work of Palestinian and queer filmmakers.

No Justice. No Peace.

Territories of Love: Film, Pride, Without Borders

June 20, 2026 20:00

La semilla, talleres y oficios
Calle ensenada 795, zona centro, 21850. San Felipe baja California., San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico

“Territories of Love: Film, Pride, Without Borders” is a project developed as part of the Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026 call, with the purpose of creating a space for reflection, dialogue, and community engagement through documentary cinema and artistic practices. The project is grounded in the need to address love as a political act, as well as a form of resistance and a universal language that transcends borders. Through the screening of queer documentary short films, it seeks to amplify diverse narratives around love, freedom, and LGBTQ+ rights, while fostering empathy and recognition of different ways of inhabiting the world.

In addition to the film screenings, the project will include art workshops, a bazaar, music, poetry, and diverse artistic expressions developed collaboratively. These components are designed to encourage collective participation, creative expression, and the strengthening of community ties through shared experiences rooted in respect and care. “Territories of Love” aims to highlight the role of art and cinema as tools for dialogue, visibility, and social awareness. By bringing together audiences in a shared space, the project contributes to ongoing conversations around identity, human rights, and solidarity, emphasizing the importance of creating inclusive environments where different voices and experiences can coexist.

Ultimately, this initiative seeks to affirm that love, in all its forms, remains a powerful force capable of crossing boundaries and sustaining collective hope.

No Pride in Genocide: Queer Cinema for Palestine

Alongside Queer Cinema for Palestine, Filmhuis Cavia celebrates Palestinian voices and expresses queer solidarity with Palestinians and their liberation struggle. Cavia has partnered with Queer Cinema for Palestine this Pride month to bring a shared programme focusing on the world of queer Palestinian and allied artists, in historic Palestine, across the diaspora and beyond.

In addition to the 60-minute programme QCP has put together, we will also be screening the short film ‘Etir’ by Fateema Al-Hamaydeh Miller.

20:30

A Message

Mama Ganuush | 2026 | Palestine | 2:51 min | English, EN subtitles

A short documentary film capturing the queer Palestinian voices in exile.

Mama Ganuush is a trans Palestinian performance artist, filmmaker, organizer, and activist whose work is a potent and unflinching expression of Palestinian futurism. Based between San Francisco and Lisbon, their performances are a powerful synthesis of Palestinian folk art and music, the elegance of Egyptian golden-era dance, and the raw, spontaneous energy of clown and theatre.

Ceasefire بِكَفِّي قَهْـر

Teodor Vladár | 2025 | Slovakia/Hungary | 23 min | English, Arabic, Slovak, EN subtitles

Nawras, a Jordanian-Palestinian queer artist, has been living in Slovakia, Bratislava for the past four years. Living within two communities and clashing cultures, she is pushed towards a third goal; to find peace and a place she can call home. Now, she is reclaiming the culture she was born into, this time, as she chooses to define it, and in doing so, creating a community which becomes her family.

Teodor Vladár is 21 years old and currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. He has studied in Spain and France, the latter being film studies in Paris. He is involved in queer and pro-Palestinian activism and wants to give voices to people by creating documentaries. He is a writer and a screenwriter as well, having won multiple short story competitions in Slovakia. He is also the host of a podcast “Nami o nás”, which focuses on queer identities in world filmography. “Ceasefire” is his directing debut, which he has created with the financial help of a crowdfunding campaign.

The Five-Year Plan for Financial Independence

Dua Omari | 2025 | Palestine | 7 min | English, EN subtitles

This video reflects on Palestine’s history as a repeating cycle of injustice, imagining a future where the system remains unchanged, and violence continues. It exposes the failure of the global system to deliver real justice, offering only symbolic solutions that do not improve daily life. Palestinians are forced to adapt to conditions below basic human dignity, kept in a state of false hope with no clear path to freedom or dignity.

Dua Omari is a visual artist from Jerusalem working across video and painting. She holds degrees in Psychology and Contemporary Visual Arts from Birzeit University. Her practice explores the intersection between the individual psyche and the political and social reality, with a focus on psychological and lived experiences under systems of oppression, particularly those of women, children, and Palestinian society under occupation. She has participated in local and international exhibitions and has completed artist residencies at the Spanish Academy in Rome and the A. M. Qattan Foundation.

Until We Return

Huss AC | 2025 | Egypt/Scotland | 11 min | English, EN subtitles

Until We Return drifts between memory and dream, moving from the flicker of a sixth birthday on VHS to the final unknowing farewell of a vanished home. Unfolding like a passage along the Nile, through dreamlike currents of Cairo where memory and presence blur, part vision, part yearning, part possibility. Upon its waters, a fragile utopia awakens, a world where separation never came to be, where return is still within reach, and the home once lost flows back into being.

Huss is an Arab multidisciplinary artist, performer, filmmaker, and film programmer based in Glasgow. His work explores queerness, memory, and exile, weaving personal and political narratives that confront displacement, censorship, and survival. Moving across film, performance, installation, and sound, his practice creates space for fragmented histories and silenced voices, challenging dominant narratives around Arab and diasporic experience.

We Will Haunt Your Archive

R. R. | 2026 | United States | 10 min | English

December 2, 2023. A queer protest erupts in San Francisco in solidarity with Palestine. The film situates this action within the longer history of ACT UP’s activism during the AIDS crisis. It explores glitch as a radical feminist tactic for resisting contemporary regimes of surveillance and silencing.

R.R. is a filmmaker, scholar, and multimedia journalist. He has worked as a journalist for international publications such as The Los Angeles Times and broadcast outlets including CNN and Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. His award-winning films have screened at international film festivals and venues such as IDFA, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley.

Sorry

John Greyson | 2024 | Canada | 7 min | English, EN subtitles

A portrait of three young women: Luna Alyaan, a young Gaza violinist, killed by an Elbit drone; Eden Golan, a Zionist singer who represented Israel at 2024’s Eurovision in Malmo; and Greta Thunberg, who led protests at Eurovision that year. A dark satire of Israel’s weaponization of song for hasbara (propaganda) purposes, Sorry uses humour and pop culture to create a mash-up agit-prop in support of the ongoing Eurovision boycott and the Dump Elbit campaign. (Inspired by Toronto Palestine Film Festival’s Gaza Lives tribute to artists lost in the genocide).

John Greyson is an award-winning queer Toronto video/film artist, whose features, shorts and transmedia works include: Unauthorized Amplification Devices (2026), Gauze (2025), Door Prize (2025), Death Mask (2024), Photo Booth (2023), International Dawn Chorus Day (2020), Mercurial (2018), Gazonto (2016), Murder in Passing (2013), Fig Trees (2009), Proteus (2003), Lilies (1996), Zero Patience (1993), The Making of Monsters (1991) and Urinal (1989).

Etir

Fateema Al-Hamaydeh Miller | 2022 | Canada | 15 min | Arabic, English, EN subtitles

A closeted Arab wholesale perfume seller, attempting to mask his identity with excessive amounts of Polo Sport adjacent cologne, is knocked off centre when a charming customer sees through his act.

Fateema Al-Hamaydeh Miller is a mixed-race Palestinian filmmaker whose work explores fragmented identity, grief & post-traumatic growth through “oh no, should I laugh?” comedy. Fateema is a Women in the Director’s Chair and CFC Directors’ Lab alumna and recently completed a fellowship for Middle Eastern writers at USC. She is a firm believer in resistance & resilience through laughter.

Queer Cinema for Palestine – at Good Company Reads, Lisbon

We’re opening up the shop for a night of films, conversation, and resistance.

Queer Cinema for Palestine (QCP) is a travelling festival that brings together work by queer Palestinian artists and their allies. The program we’re showing runs about an hour, and the films pull from a wider current — one where queer liberation, Palestinian freedom, and the fight against all forms of domination aren’t separate causes but the same one.

Our host for the night is Mama Ganuush, a trans Palestinian performance artist, filmmaker, and organizer whose own work appears in the program. After the screenings they’ll sit down with us for a Q&A, and then run a workshop on anti-colonial propaganda — how it’s made, how it moves, and how we might make our own.

Come watch, come argue, come make something.

Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026: No Pride in Genocide na GRALHA!

No dia 26 de Junho, sexta, a Gralha exibe uma série de filmes do programa Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026 (QCP): No Pride in Genocide,  evento cinematográfico global co-organizado pela Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI). Bora? Traz tua pipoca e vem!

📽️ Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026: No Pride in Genocide! 🎥

🗓️ 26 de Junho, sexta às 21h30

📍CSA A Gralha (Tv. Anselmo Braancamp, 74 – Porto)

The MAXwell Centre St Salvador’s Halls Carnegie St, Dundee, DD3 7EW, Dunder, Scotland

Art Workers for Palestine Dundee and Maxwell Community Garden, invite you to a special screening of the Queer Cinema for Palestine 2026 programme as part of June’s global _No Pride in Genocide_ campaign.

Bringing together works by queer Palestinian and allied artists from Scotland, Egypt, Slovakia, Hungary, Canada, and the wider Arab diaspora, the programme moves through memory, exile, protest, grief, resistance, and return. Across documentary, experimental film, satire, and personal archive, these works  weave a way for us to seek out a collective language for liberation, through standing witness and offering refuge.

The afternoon event features films by artists including Glasgow-based filmmaker Huss, Palestinian artist Dua Omari, trans Palestinian performance artist Mama Ganuush, Slovak filmmaker Teodor Vladár, and Canadian queer filmmaker John Greyson.

Hosted within the shared space of the Maxwell Community Garden, the free event will include a communal meal and conversation with local LGBTQ+ activists, creating space to deepen community connection, solidarity, and collective care across struggles. Welcoming donations, all funds raised will support mutual aid initiatives in Gaza, across Palestine, and Southern Lebanon.

No Pride in Genocide / Nema ponosa u genocidu

June 11, 2026 19:00

Infoteka CK13
Vojvode Bojovića 13, Novi Sad, Serbia

Svakodnevno svedočimo rastu represije i nasilja – genocidu nad palestinskim narodom, rastućim desničarskim politikama koje napadaju migrante/kinje, manjine, kao i osnovna ljudska prava.

Ali otpor postoji i širi se. U tom duhu otpora i zajedništva, Queer Cinema for Palestine (QCP) – No Pride in Genocide / Nema ponosa u genocida okuplja (kvir) umetnike i umetnice iz Palestine, dijaspore i sveta.

Un Colectivo Recuerda invites our community to engage in a curated program of short films by Palestinian Queer cultural workers and allies, encompassing experiences of defiance, non-collaboration, collective memory and the struggle for liberation, embodied in different territories where Palestinian resistance flourishes, inspires, and calls for the rest of the world to unite against structures of genocide.

It is very important to us to create spaces of connection outside typical art spaces that are usually linked to careerism, gentrification, tokenism and war/genocide profiteering. We believe it is important to divest our focus and efforts from institutional hegemonic spaces so we can talk to one another more openly and build the networks we truly need and deserve.

We’ll be collecting funds to support local Palestinian organizers in their  defense against sustained campaigns of stalking, harassment, intimidation, and civil rights violation directed at them.
